About us

Mid Sussex Networks for Older People is an independent network of voluntary and community organisations which support older people across the Mid Sussex district. Our member groups include large charities as well as small community groups. The principal partners are Age UK, 4Sight and Mid Sussex Older People’s Council. Our common desire is to serve the older residents of Mid Sussex, and – working together in partnership – we are extending the range and capacity of our services.
Through our partnership working we will:
- Develop the capacity and range of voluntary services for older people in Mid Sussex
- Encourage wider community participation in those groups and services
- Encourage Mid Sussex’s neighbourhoods and villages to be more neighbourly and supportive places for older people to live
The outcomes of our work will be to:
- Enhance the quality of life of Mid Sussex’s older residents
- Support older people’s ability to live independently for longer
- Prevent health and social breakdown
- Strengthen our communities to make them better places to live and work
The team
Mid Sussex Networks for Older People has a staff team dedicated to support our network’s member groups in what they do. Our team encourage new services where there are gaps, and work out in local neighbourhoods and villages to develop community responses which serve older people.
If you run a group or service for older people, or are interested in starting one in your neighbourhood or village, then we can help you! Our staff team give:
- Opportunities to meet and network with other similar groups
- Direct support with fundraising applications
- Business support, to assist groups to become sustainable
